The Mules, winners of three straight games, improve to 4-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. The Bantams, who started the season ranked 10th nationally, dropped to 1-4 overall and 0-4 in league play.

 

* With the time winding down and overtime looming, van Gijzen was fouled about five yards out of the circle. She took a few dribbles to get in the circle and blasted a backhand shot to the lower right corner of the cage. 

 

* The Mules did not give up a shot after the winning goal and did a good job of killing time in the corner.

 

* Colby darted out to a 2-0 lead thanks to the seventh goal of the season from Georgia Cassidy off a penalty corner. Maddie Schoeni had the assist after she pushed a pass into the center to Cassidy, who quickly turned and ripped a shot.

 

* Myri Skodock scored her third goal of the season off a rebound at 16:08 of the first half. A long ball was played into the circle, where Cassidy turned on another shot that was saved. However, Skodock was there on the left side to bang in the rebound.

 

* The Bantams took a timeout after the Colby goal and scored just 1:51 later to cut the margin to one goal. Chandler Solimine scored on a scramble in front of the goal.

 

* Trinity scored on a second chance opportunity at 44:43 of the contest. Caroline Curtin banged in the goal off another scramble in front.

 

* Colby goalie Riley Whitmyer made 14 saves and now has 64 stops in six games. She has a .865 save percentage. Trinity goalie Lori Berger made seven saves.

 

* Penalty corners were tied 13-13 and the Bantams had a 21-15 shot advantage. Solimine had all five of her shots on goal, while van Gijzen had four of her five shots on goal. 

 

* Colby looks for a fourth straight win on Tuesday against University of New England at 7 p.m. The contest will be the first-ever night game at the new Bill Alfond Field. 

 

* The Bantams play another NESCAC game Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Connecticut College.
