MEDFORD, Mass. -- Kathleen Mason (pictured) went 1-for-1 and drew a walk for the Colby College softball team in an 8-0 loss in five innings to Tufts University on Sunday at Spicer Field.
The Jumbos (12-5 overall, 3-0 NESCAC East) scored twice in the first inning, had five runs in the third, and ended the game due to the eight-run rule with a lone run in the fifth.
Katie McLaughlin added a hit and a stolen base for the Mules (6-12, 0-3). Robin Spofford, Skylar Labbe, Paige Hartnett, and Carly Swartz also had hits.
Cassie Ruscz was 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI for Tufts. She had an RBI single in the first inning and a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the third inning.
Colby's game at Thomas College on Tuesday has been switched to Colby for a 4:50 p.m. start.
