STOWE, Vt, -- The Colby College women's alpine team had three skiers in the top 10 and the Mules finished in a tie for second place in slalom competition at the University of Vermont Carnival on Saturday at Stowe.
Mardi Haskell had her best finish of the season by placing second with runs of 57.93 and 58.69 for a total time of 1:56.62. Dartmouth College's Alexa Dlouhy won the event in 1:55.30 and had the same time as Haskell in her second run.
"It was a good weekend for our alpine teams. We came in third combining the four events," Colby head coach Danny Noyes said. "Great two days for Max Richard. He's really coming into his own and taking charge. First-year Sandra Schoepke found a new level this weekend with two top-10 results."

Jessica Reinhart and Schoepke both had big days. Reinhart was ninth in 2:00.70 with runs of 1:01.78 and a very fast 58.92. Schoepke made it two top-10 finishes in one weekend by placing 10th in 2:01.17.
Dartmouth won the competition with 135 points, while Colby was tied with University of Vermont with 111. No other school had more than 72 points.
The Colby men placed eighth with a score of 47. Richard was 18th with a total time of 1:59.70.
Ellis Grubman took 33rd and
Cam Price was 34th.
