Flynn scores goal in setback

GORHAM, Maine -- Delaney Flynn scored her first of the season in the second period for the Colby College women's hockey team, but the Mules could not score another goal in a 2-1 loss at University of Southern Maine on Tuesday night.

Colby (0-2-1 overall) had a 33-18 shot advantage in the game. 
 

The Huskies (2-5) scored at 17:31 of the opening period on a goal by Julia Buffalini off an assist from Tawni Mohler.

Southern Maine went up 2-0 on Katie Couture's third of the season from Katie Nolan and Alex Mitchell at 7:11 of the second period.
 

Colby, though, took some momentum away from USM after scoring just 1:23 after Couture's goal. Flynn tallied at 8:34 from first-year Cassidy Holzer (pictured).

Britney Evangelista made 32 saves, including 13 in the second period, for the Huskies. Hannah Insuik stopped 16 shots for the Mules.
