After yesterday's thrilling triple-overtime win, the Mules entered today's matchup with high energy. Colby showcased strong offensive pressure in the opening period, recording 19 shots, winning 16 of 23 faceoffs, and earning one power-play opportunity. Amherst set the lead at 9:25 into the period, but the Mules remained resilient for the remainder of the frame. Goaltender Ally Martinello made 11 saves to keep Colby in the game. The second period saw lots of back-and-forth play. Despite no goals from either team, Colby added 23 more shots and earned another power-play opportunity, with Martinello contributing 11 more saves. In the third period, Colby's offense continued to press, outshooting Amherst 32-16. After 20 more minutes of intense play, the Mules were unable to break through. Colby finished the game with 74 total shots, and Martinello recorded 31 impressive saves. Beth Sinson led the team with nine shots. The Mules fought hard and demonstrated excellent play, but fell 2-1 to Amherst.

This concludes Colby's run in the NESCAC playoffs for the 2025-2026 season. Despite the tough loss, the team showed the resilience and skill needed to compete with one of the top-ranked Division III women's hockey programs. Although the 2025-2026 season has come to an end, the Mules had an outstanding season, finishing with 18 wins and two players earning All-NESCAC honors. With a strong core and continued development, Colby looks to build on this success in the seasons ahead.
