Paul Rucci

Paul Rucci returns to the Colby Sports Medicine staff to start the 2023-24 academic year after serving as a COVID-19 response team member at the college for the past three years. He was a full time athletic trainer at Colby from 2013-2018 where his sports coverage included football, men's ice hockey, softball, and men's and women's crew.

Prior to Paul's COVID-19 appointment, he had worked in both Massachusetts as well as southern Maine as an athletic trainer for sports medicine physicians after completing an Athletic Training Residency at Emory Sports Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 2018. While at Emory, Paul's experience included learning to become a surgical assistant for orthopedic procedures, conducted and presented orthopedic research, worked closely with clinical staff to understand and interpret imaging studies, and attended journal clubs and grand rounds.

Paul is a native of Millinocket, Maine and completed his undergraduate athletic training degree at University of Maine at Presque Isle as well as his Master's in Athletic Training from California University of Pennsylvania.

Rucci provides direct medical services for Cross Country, Squash, Track and Field, and Rugby.
