Otha Yarborough came to Colby College in the spring of 2022 as the Wide Receiver Coach and Video Coordinator. He comes to Colby after a recent stop at Bates College where coached the Linebackers, and the Defensive Line in his one season there. He also recruited the southeast states. Before Bates, Yarborough was named Offensive Coordinator at ASA College-Brooklyn. The Avengers 2021 season was canceled due to Covid-19.
In 2019 Yarborough was hired as the Quarterback Coach and Quality Control at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta Georgia. At CAU he mentored the 2019 SIAC leader in passing yards, and touchdowns passes, who also finished 2nd team all-conference. Prior to that experience, he served as a Student Intern at Georgia State University. For three years at GSU he gained hands-on experience in multiple areas including serving as an academic liaison, video assistant, recruiting and player personnel, assisting in pro days, and game day responsibilities. Before interning Yarborough worked as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator at Georgia Prep Sports Academy in Atlanta, Georgia in 2016.
Yarborough began his coaching career on the high school level in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. He is from Newport News, Virginia and a graduate of Warwick High School. He holds a Bachelors from Georgia State University in African American Studies.
