Colby College

Mike Napoli returns as an Assistant Coach for the Colby College Men’s Tennis team to begin the 2025-26 academic year. Napoli was previously an assistant for both men's and women's tennis from 2016 to 2019.  Napoli brings tremendous experience to Colby as he was also the Head Men’s Tennis Coach at UC Santa Cruz and was Head Men’s and Women Tennis Coach at Ave Maria University and the Head Women’s coach at Cuesta College in California.

Napoli has worked as an assistant coach at William and Mary University, Florida Gulf Coast University, San Diego State University and Cal Poly SLO, where he helped the team to a Division 2 National Championship.

Napoli, who has been teaching tennis since 1977, also brings extensive playing experience playing both singles and doubles on the ATP Pro Circuit from 1979 to 1989.

Napoli has earned multiple coach of the year awards, including the ITA National Coach of the Year in 2009, and was inducted into the California state coaches Hall of Fame in 2013 after helping Cuesta College to 13 Western State titles during his tenure.
