Karolina graduated from Needham High School, where she was a member of the volleyball, gymnastics, and track & field teams. She achieved high honors all four years. Karolina worked as a research assistant at Boston Children's Hospital over the summer of 2016.
AT COLBY
Karolina has an independent major in Public Health with a minor in Chemistry and is on the pre-med track. At Colby, she has worked as a Community Advisor and research assistant in Andrea Tilden's lab. Karolina is a Hardy Girls Healthy Women muse and a senior senator on SGA. In 2016, she received the Lorraine I. Morel Memorial Award from Student Life for her contributions to academic and social life.
2016 season highlights: Serhan, a co-captain, led the Mules in blocks (70) and was second in both kills (225) and service aces (34). She also recorded six assists and 96 digs and played in every match. Karolina finished her career with 730 kills and 243 blocks. Serhan was named to the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team and earned Colby's Pamela Hoyt Sanborn Award for inspirational leadership and sportsmanship. Karolina earned Phi Beta Kappa academic honors.
2015 season highlights: Serhan, a co-captain, finished her junior season third on the Mules in kills (146) and blocks (47). She was on the NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team.
2014 season highlights: Serhan, a captain, finished the season second on the Mules in kills (218) and also added 35 aces. Karolina led the Mules with 79 blocks and also compiled 71 defensive digs. She was on the NESCAC Fall Academic Team.
2013 season highlights: Serhan was third on the Mules in kills with 141 and second in blocks at 47. She also had 21 service aces and 66 defensive digs.
