Luca Brashear joined the Colby College Swimming & Diving coaching staff as the Diving Coach ahead of the 2024-25 season. He is a proud graduate of Springfield College, having grown up in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Brashear began diving lessons at Amherst College before the age of 10. At the age of 13, he joined the Duke Diving Club in Durham, North Carolina. After returning to Amherst, Brashear excelled in high school diving, remaining undefeated throughout every regular season meet during his four years.
While at Springfield College, Brashear received numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Individual Male Athlete Award. He is a four-time national qualifier and a four-time All-American. In addition to NEWMAC Athlete of the Year for the 2021-2022 season and is a distinguished member of the Springfield College Maroon Club of Outstanding Athletes. In the 2024-25 season Brashear coached two athletes to regional qualifications and in the 25-26 season he coached Avery Rappaport to a NESCAC 3M title and Co-Female NESCAC Diver of the Year and another Regional qualification.
