Seth Benjamin enters his second year as Colby's Head Coach of Women's Soccer with the start of the 2025-26 academic year.
In just his first season coaching the Mules, Benjamin led the team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999. Not only did the team earn a spot in the Division III bracket but made a run to the sweet 16 after defeating Claremont-M.S. 1-0 and upsetting third ranked MIT 2-0. On top of this achievement, Colby battled in their first ever NESCAC Championship game after knocking off third seeded Williams (first quarterfinals win since 2006) and top seeded Wesleyan in the semifinals. Benjamin and the rest of the Colby Women's Soccer coaching staff earned region one coaching staff of the year for their achievements in both an exciting and historic season.
Prior to Mayflower Hill, Benjamin was named Coach of the Year twice in six years showing his extraordinary ability to develop a program and individuals with success across state, regional, and national levels.
Before coaching at Colby, Benjamin made a historic run as the head coach at the University of Southern Maine. The Huskies were back-to-back Little East Conference Championships in 2022 and 2023, accumulating a 67-25-9 record over Benjamin's six seasons at the helm. USM accumulated a 6-2 record across four conference tournaments, and qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament in 2022 and 2023, the first two appearances in program history. The Huskies defeated 11th-ranked Rowan University in the first round in 2023.
Prior to his tenure at the helm of USM, Benjamin spent time at the University of Vermont, Green Mountain College, University of New England, and New Hampton School. He holds numerous coaching accreditations from the United States Soccer Federation including a USSF A License, an NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, and an NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma. A graduate of USM, Benjamin was a four-year starter for the Huskies' men's soccer program.
