Holley Tyng enters her tenth year as Head Coach of the Colby College Women's Ice Hockey program in the 2025-26 academic year.
In the 2024-25 campaign, Tyng earned her 100th career win and led the Mules to their third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four seasons as well as fifth straight conference semifinals game with an overall 18-7-2 record.
In 2023-24, Tyng coached two-time All-American and NESCAC Player of the Year Meg Rittenhouse '24 in her final season (the first player in program history to be named Player of the Year) where the team totaled a 17-8-1 record. Rittenhouse, a three time All-Conference selection was also the 2022 NESCAC Rookie of the Year.
In the 2019-2020 season, Colby capitalized on earning their first ever national ranking that saw the Mules finish 15-6-5 overall and 9-3-4 in the NESCAC. The Mules were almost unstoppable in their final year in Alfond Rink only losing once at home. Tyng was named NESCAC Coach of the Year after the season.
Prior to Colby, Tyng spent 11 years at Dartmouth serving as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach in 2011. She was responsible for practice and game coaching of forwards (2005-2009, 2012-2016) and defense (2009-2012) with the Big Green. Tyng worked for former Dartmouth head coach Mark Hudak, who retired after the 2015-16 academic year. She was part of four NCAA tourney appearances, two ECAC Hockey Tournament titles, an Ivy League championship, and an ECAC Hockey regular season title.
Tyng began her coaching career at Tabor Academy, her alma mater, posting a 23-10-5 record over two years.
Captain during her senior year as a student at Providence College, Tyng was a three-time ECAC All-Academic Team selection. She earned the Paul Connelly Award for distinguished sportsmanship, courage, and honor in May 2001.
