Colby College

Meredith Atwood joined the Colby Sports Medicine staff in 2019.

Meredith was born and raised in Machias, Maine and has been a certified athletic trainer since 2003.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training / Sports Medicine from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, and completed her master’s degree in Health and Human Performance: Advanced Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.  

After graduation, Meredith continued to live and work in the Chattanooga, TN area for the next 15 years.  She first performed outreach through Parkridge Medical Center and then served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Covenant College on Lookout Mountain, Georgia for 10 years.  With an opportunity to join the Colby College community and be closer to family, Meredith returned to her home state of Maine.  

Meredith is the lead instructor for Colby's Athletic Department training in CPR/AED and First Aid. She has extensive experience in concussion evaluation and management, and she has become the staff adviser for our electronic medical records program.

Meredith provides direct medical services for Field Hockey, Crew, Swimming & Diving, and Women's Lacrosse.
