Biography

AT COLBY

Fred is majoring in Economics with a minor in Creative Writing. He is a team captain for the Mules.

2016-2017 season highlights: Fred rowed from the fourth spot in the varsity 8 boat and the two spot in the varsity 4. He was named team MVP and earned the squad's Scott A. Shirey Spirit Award. He helped the crew take ninth at the New England Championships and 10th at the National Invitational Rowing Championships (NIRC). Fred also helped the Mules beat University of New Hampshire, University of Vermont, and Coast Guard Academy. Colby started the spring by taking fourth out of 20 boats in Georgia. Fred was on the NIRC All-Academic Team and the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team.

2015-2016 season highlights: Bower competed in the first varsity boat in his junior season. He helped the Mules finish first at the home regatta, second in the Petite Final and eighth overall at the New England Rowing Championships, and 13th at the ECAC National Championship.

2014-2015 season highlights: Bower competed in the first varsity boat for the duration of the season, and opened the year in the third position at the Lowell Regatta, where Colby finished second. Bower then helped Colby finish fourth at the Worcester Regatta from the fourth position and second at the UNH Regatta from the fifth position. Fred finished the year in the third position, helping Colby finish 10th at the New England Rowing Championship and 14th at the ECAC National Championship.
