Biography

Why I chose Colby: "I wanted a small school that wasn't in the city and was relatively close to home. After visiting Colby for accepted students weekend I knew this was where I wanted to spend my next four years."

Internship/Work Experience: In the summer of 2018, Ty had an internship at Kaohsiung American School in Taiwan and worked as a counselor at Pine Tree Two Basketball Camp. In the summer of 2019, Ty was an intern at Tuft's Medical Center in the Pediatric ENT Department.

Major: Biology

Most Memorable Team Experience: "How accepting and inclusive the team was when I was walking on."

Plans After Colby: Ty plans on being a Physician's Assistant or attending Dental School.

2019-20 season highlights: Williams played all 28 games and started 7 for the Mules, averaging 21.2 minutes per game. He was fourth on the team in assists per game (2.2) and first in steals (37). He also averaged 2.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. Ty tied for second on the team for offensive rebounds per game (1.5).

2018-19 season highlights: Williams played all 25 games for the Mules, averaging 20.0 minutes per game. He was first on the team in assists per game (2.8), first in field goal percentage (55.0), and tied for first in steals (26). He also averaged 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest. After the season, Ty was named to the NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team.

2017-18 season highlights: Williams played in 23 games for the Mules, averaging 18.6 minutes a game. He finished third on the team in steals (22). He also averaged 1.5 points, 1.9 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per contest.

2016-17 season highlights: Williams played in all 24 games with the Mules, averaging 19 minutes a game. He had 4.2 points against NESCAC teams, 2.8 assists against league teams, and 2.6 rebounds per contest. He also had 19 steals on the year. In his first collegiate game, Williams hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer to beat Pine Manor.
