Kyle Butler returned to the Colby Men's Basketball program as an assistant coach in the summer of 2026 after beginning his coaching career at the high school and youth levels. A 2023 Colby graduate, Butler was a four-year member of the Mules Men's Basketball team and helped the program earn an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2020, as well as appearances in the NESCAC Championship game in 2020 and 2023.
Prior to returning to Mayflower Hill, Butler served as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at The Fenn School after previously serving as an assistant coach. In his first season as head coach, he led the program to a 14-3 record. Butler also served as The Fenn School's Assistant Director of Admission and Coordinator of Multicultural Outreach before joining NDUR for Athletes as
Director of Student-Athlete and Partnership Success, where he worked with student-athletes in leadership development, mental performance, and personal growth. During the 2025-26 season, Butler returned to his alma mater, The Rivers School, where he served as the Boys' Junior Varsity Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach.
While a student-athlete at Colby, Butler founded KB3 Elite Basketball, a player development organization that has trained and mentored hundreds of athletes throughout New England. He is also the co-founder of The Summer Draft League, a competitive summer league focused on providing athletes with high-level competition, skill development, and exposure opportunities. A native of Mattapan, Massachusetts, Butler earned a bachelor's degree in Educational Studies with a minor in Classics from Colby College in 2023.
