Taylor Lockhart joined the Colby Baseball coaching staff during the 2020-2021 academic year.
Lockhart most recently was an assistant at Hampden-Sydney College where he ran the outfield and worked with the hitters. Before getting shut down by COVID-19, Hampden-Sydney was 12-4 and 5-0 against top 25 teams. While at Hampden-Sydney Lockhart helped bring in the 19th ranked recruiting for the 2020 Division III class.
Lockhart has coached in some of the best summer leagues in the country and most recently was the Hitting Coach for the 2022 New England Collegiate Baseball League champs, the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks. Head Coach of the Tri City Chili Peppers in the Coastal Plain League and Hitting Coach for the Wilson Tobs also in the Coastal Plain League. Lockhart has coached current MiLB players: 2021 20th overall pick Trey Sweeney (New York Yankees), Jared Carr (Philadelphia Phillies), Chris Meyers (Detroit Tigers), Bradford Webb (Texas Rangers), Mitch Myers (Oakland Athletics), Jake Schrand (Miami Marlins), Damon Dues (San Francisco Giants), Adam Stone (New York Yankees) and Colin Lowe (Miami Marlins).
A University of Maine at Farmington Graduate, Lockhart began his coaching career at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio and helped them become nationally ranked in their first year back as a program.
