Waterville, Maine — Colby Volleyball defended its flawless record Tuesday evening, securing a 3-0 (25-7, 25-6, 25-16) win over the University of Southern Maine at the Margaret M. Crook Center to improve to 10-0 overall. With the non-conference victory, Colby remains perfect at 10-0 overall.
A total team effort propelled the Mules across all facets of play, as Colby had 34 total kills, five team blocks, and 15 service aces. Brady Moseley stood as Colby's kill leader, with six kills on a .500 hitting percentage while defending the court with 10 digs. Brianna Hazak contributed a well-rounded stat line with five kills, five digs, and two aces. Marjorie Johnson was flawless at the net, converting all four of her swings into kills for a 1.000 attack percentage to go along with two blocks. Evelyn Kunde and Azariah Love further bolstered the front-row output, finishing with three kills each.
Colby created consistent momentum behind the line, generating a total of 15 aces. Gabby Grujic led the effort behind the service line with six aces, paired with three from libero Reese Loyd, two from Brianna Hazak, and two from Reese Blanchard.
The Mules kept the offense fluid, as Gabby Grujic produced 10 assists, Sydney DeProfio set a perfect eight assists, and Reese Blanchard added six. Defensively, Reese Loyd and Brady Moseley defended the back row with 10 digs each, while freshman Anaya Francois contributed five digs—showing steady defensive composure as she builds on her seven-dig performance over the weekend.
The Mules head to Williamstown on Friday, October 2, to face NESCAC opponent Williams College at 7:00 p.m.
