Waterville, Maine — Colby earned a 3-2 victory over Connecticut College on Sunday, getting goals from Hadley Swenson, Abby Morrill and Ruth Collins to secure the win and become 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the NESCAC. Connecticut College dropped to 0-4 in the conference and 1-4 on the season.
The Mules generated consistent offensive pressure throughout the game, finishing with 14 shots and eight penalty corners. Colby also put eight shots on goal while goalkeeper Ginna Jacoby made four saves to help preserve the victory.
Swenson opened the scoring for Colby, with Maddie Campbell providing the assist. Morrill added another goal for the Mules off a pass from Nora Foley, giving Colby a 2-1 advantage. Collins then extended the lead with an assist from Alex Hood.
Connecticut College cut the deficit to one in the second half, but Colby's defense led by Goalie Ginna Jacoby with four saves, held firm through the final minutes to secure the victory.
Christina Sweeney led Colby with four shots, while Teagan Kilpatrick and Hood each added two.
Colby competed to the last whistle and finished with a 3-2 advantage on the scoreboard. The Mules look ahead to their next game back at home against Trinity College this Saturday the 26th.
