Northborough, Mass. — Colby sophomore defender Gisele Uva has officially added the title of All-American to her resume following a breakout campaign on the backline for the Mules' Women's Lacrosse team. Uva received national recognition from two major organizations, earning a spot on the IWLCA All-American Second Team and receiving a USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention.

The twin national awards put a exclamation point on a highly decorated sophomore season for the Boylston, Massachusetts native. Earlier this month, Uva was recognized as one of the premier lock-down defenders in the region when she was named to both the All-NESCAC First Team and the IWLCA All-Pilgrim Region First Team.

As the primary communicator for the Mules' defensive unit, Uva was a multi-faceted force all spring. She spearheaded Colby's backline and transition game, leading the team in both caused turnovers (25) and ground balls (30) while consistently matching up against the top offensive players in the country. Her dominance extended to the circle as well, where she pulled down 33 draw controls to rank third on the roster and help the Mules navigate a tough schedule.

Uva's poise and defensive excellence helped guide the Mules to nine wins and an at-large berth into the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament field. With two years still ahead on Mayflower Hill, her selection to the IWLCA and USA Lacrosse All-American teams anchors a bright future for the Colby defensive line.
