Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Men's Lacrosse team played the No. 12 ranked Cardinals of Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon for their first home game of the 2026 season. While Colby came out strong, looking for their first conference win of the season, Wesleyan started off strong in the first quarter, holding onto their lead for the entire 60 minutes, finishing with a 13-6. The Mules now stand 1-3 overall, 0-3 in the NESCAC.
In the first quarter, Wesleyan found the back of the net first, taking a 3-0 lead just four minutes in. Junior
Easton Bello started off the scoring for the Mules, recording his third goal of the season, assisted by
Thacher McCoy. First-year
Joey Hagerty cut the Cardinal's lead in half about five minutes later with a goal assisted by Bello. Wesleyan found one more goal before the end of the first, taking a 4-2 lead after 15 minutes. In the second quarter, first-year
Eli Chilicki netted his sixth goal of the season to put the Mules one goal behind Wesleyan. The Cardinals answered back, scoring three more goals in the second and out-shooting the Mules six to four.
Entering the second half down by four, Wesleyan netted four unanswered goals in the third quarter, taking an 11-3 lead over the Mules entering the final 15 minutes.

Daniel O'Connor, and Hagerty scored one more goal each in the fourth quarter, out-scoring their opponent 3-2 in the final quarter, but it wasn't enough against Wesleyan's previous lead. The Cardinals finished with a 13-6 win over the Mules. Senior
Will Heisler stood tall in net for the full 60 minutes for Colby, recording 10 saves on the day.
Colby is back in action for a mid-week home game against Clark University at 4pm.
