Stowe, Vt. - The Colby College Alpine Ski team closed the UVM Carnival Friday with the Slalom. The women's team placed 5th and the men's team 6th in the 13-team field.
Carissa Cassidy (headline photo) collected her fourth consecutive top-5 Slalom result to start the season, earning fifth place Friday. The senior has finished 1st, 3rd, 4th, and now 5th in the four SL races thus far. A day after having only one finisher in Thursday's Giant Slalom, the women's team had only two in this one.
Althea Noyes' 21st place result is her top of the season in this discipline. Zoe Zimmermann won the race for Dartmouth.

The men's team was led by
Harrison Digangi (photo left) in 14th place.
Win Flaggert had a career-best finish in 28th followed by
Espen Hunt in 32nd and
Teagan Turner in 36th.
Townsend Mikell (finished fourth in the UVM Giant Slalom a day ago) was on the verge of having a career series, sitting in 15th after his first run. The treacherous Main Street terrain, specifically the final Horsebarn pitch, turned Mikell into one of its 100+ casualties on the day. Oscar Zimmer of Dartmouth won the race, completing the sweep for the Big Green.
With four carnival weekends down and two more to go, the Mules will head to Massachusetts for the Williams Carnival next weekend before closing the EISA circuit at Middlebury the next.
