Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Dominates University of Maine-Farmington

Farmington, Maine - The Colby Women's Basketball team is back on top after an overwhelming win against the Beavers of University of Maine-Farmington 66-48. Colby is now 12-8 on the season and University of Maine-Farmington is 15-6.

The Mules were no stranger to the basket today starting off with a strong sixteen point quarter. Colby scored double digits in each quarter and while the opponent was able to get the jump on them in the third, it was not enough for an upset. Once again Kate Olenik put in the work on the court having team high 16 points and achieving a double double with her 11 rebounds. Also coming in with double digit points were Lydia Mordarski with 11 and Chelsea Ibenegbu with 10. Mordarski added a steal, assist, and two rebounds. Ibenegbu was hot on the free throw line going one hundred percent on foul shots where six of her points came from.

Olenik did not stop at her double double and contributed two assists, two steals, and tied for team high with one block. Amelia Hanscom also stood strong on defense with a block of her own and nine rebounds. Steals and assists today were led by Talia Thompson who put up three of each and had six rebounds for herself. The first-years were working hard tonight as Emily Ryan, Ava Bryan, and Shea Donnelly had a steal. Ryan also sank a three pointer and grabbed a rebound. Caroline Hartley had another solid showing with nine points, four rebounds, and an assist.

The Mules are down in Massachusetts this Friday February 6 to challenge Williams for another NESCAC matchup at 7:00 PM.
