Hancock, Vt. - The Colby College Alpine Ski team closed out the 2026 EISA Carnival season with a series at the Middlebury Snowbowl.
Carissa Cassidy rode a season best finish in Friday's Giant Slalom, as well as another top-5 finish in Saturday's Slalom, to All-East recognition and another trip to the NCAA Skiing Championships.
Cassidy's jump to 14th in the GS was special, especially since it came from bib 29 (headline photo).
Althea Noyes slipped a little from the top-10's we are accustomed to seeing from her, but her 21st place still provided a solid contribution.
Finn Boissonneault was Colby's third scorer as the women's team landed in 6th for GS. Cassidy was back at it in the Slalom, fighting with the leagues best and landing just a half-second off the lead, and one-hundredth out of podium position in third. The field was so stacked that there was actually a three-way tie right behind the senior in fifth. Noyes cruised into 24th and Boissonneault skied to 34th for the Mules to place 5th out of the 13 competing teams.

In the men's GS,
Townsend Mikell led three Colby skiers in the top-25, placing 18th.
Harrison Digangi was right behind in 22nd followed by
Brady Malboeuf in 25th. Digangi (photo left) provided a spark in Saturday's slalom jumping from bib 30 to 13. Seniors
Teagan Turner and
Topher Davenport rounded out the scoring in 40th and 43rd respectively.
The top-10 overall skiers from the season long circuit (12 races) earned All-East recognition, and Cassidy made it two years in a row. She was one of only three Division III athletes to be named, with the other seven coming from Division I institutions Dartmouth (3), the University of Vermont (2), and the University of New Hampshire (2). Cassidy is joined by Noyes and
Kate McKenney (did not compete at Middlebury due to injury) as selections to the NCAA Championships in a few weeks. With Mikell making the cut on the men's side after an impressive season, Colby will have four Alpine athletes competing on the national stage for the third consecutive year.
The NCAA Championships will take place in Park City, Utah March 11-14 alternating Nordic and Alpine events daily. Colby's Nordic program also qualified four athletes, giving the Mules eight total skiers, setting a new mark for the most qualifiers for Colby at the championship event. The Giant Slalom will open the series on March 11 with the Slalom coming a few days later on the 13th.
