Clinton, N.Y. - In a hard-fought NESCAC matchup, the Colby College men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Hamilton College on Saturday. Despite facing early set-piece challenges, the Mules consistently dictated moments of dynamic attacking play, creating quality chances throughout the pitch and continually testing Hamilton's backline and goalkeeper Tobin Walsh.
Colby's attack demonstrated sharp urgency in both halves, spearheaded by forward Ethan Soroca, who led all players on the field with four total shots. Early on, defender Leo Robison pressed high to force a direct, on-target save from Hamilton's netminder, while midfielder Jude Gussen and forward Santi Canencio Moreno continually pushed through the center to keep the Continentals on their heels. The Mules earned five key corner kicks and tallied 11 shot attempts overall, reflecting an aggressive tactical mindset and relentless effort to crack the defense.
In the second half, Colby elevated its intensity, generating consecutive dangerous chances as Canencio Moreno forced a tough save and Soroca followed up with a blocked strike in the box. Goalkeeper Jackson Magee anchored the back for the Mules with four saves on the afternoon, while dynamic bench contributions from Anthony Bugliari, Grady Kirk, and Owen Vighetti kept fresh energy flowing through the squad until the final whistle.Â
Colby is back to the pitch Tuesday afternoon for the regular season finale. They host Bates at 3:00pm.Â
