Colby Tested by Tufts in Tough NESCAC Matchup

Waterville, ME - The Mules (#17) opened 2026 NESCAC play against a strong, top 10 ranked Tufts team but ultimately fell short.

Remaining strong and consistent all season, Laavanya Kugan '26 secured the only win of the matchup at the number one spot. Defeating her opponent in a convincing 3-0 manner, Kugan held strong throughout tight games and ultimately won 11-7, 11-9, and 12-10. Despite the scoreline, The Colby Women's Squash Team displayed grit and fight in all matches, with several players pushing their opponents in close battles. After loosing the first two games, Abhisheka David '26 fought hard to win a tight 11-9 third game before ultimately falling short in the fourth. After being down 3-8 in the second game, sophomore Haley Coon '28 ended up coming back to ultimately win the game. Coon continued to fight hard in the third game, but ended up loosing the set 11-9.

Colby is back in action tomorrow in another NESCAC battle against Connecticut College.
