 The Men's and Women's swimming and Diving teams competed against Wesleyan University on Saturday and won both meets in a very convincing style. The Women beat Wesleyan by a score of 207.5- 84.5 and in doing so kept their 15 meet unbeaten streak in tact and the men won 11 of 14 events to beat the Cardinals 178-76.
For the women the Mules came out strong once again winning the 200 Medley relay by almost two full seconds. The winning team of
Tahlia Crowley,
Kellen Mottl,
Lexi Asch and
Eliza Marco woucd keep it going throughout the meet as all also had individual victories as well. Crowley won the 100 backstroke, Mottl won the 100 Breaststroke, Asch won the 200 Butterfly and Marco won the 50 free as well as putting up the fastest time in the 200 IM. Her time in the 200 IM was also the 8th fastest in school history.Â
Other event winners included
Aria Kapoor in the 1000 Freestyle (12th in school history),
Caitlin Lacey in the 200 Freestyle,
Zoe Buzzelli in the 100 Freestyle,
Sarah Michael in the 200 Backstroke,
Mary Kate Daniel in the 200 Breaststroke (15th fastest in school history),
Savannah Lombardi in the 500 Freestyle and Lacey picked up her second win in the 100 Butterfly. In addition Buzzelli's swim in the 200 IM is the 17th fastest in school history.
On the boards
Avery Rappaport picked up wins on both the 1M and 3M with a season best score on the 1M. Lifetime best scores were also achieved by
Clara Ursu on the 3M and
Kira Johnson on both the 1M and 3M.
For the men
Brandon Morrison led the way with 4 victories for the meet, including 3 individual wins. He won the 200 Freestyle, the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle. His time in the 50 is now 11th in school history and in the 100 he did the 17th fastest swim in school history, His final victory was on the 200 Freestyle relay where he was joined by
Todd Siekman,
Charlie Jacobs and
Amaan Siddiqui.
SeniorsÂ
Alexander MacLennan and
Brandon Xiong both earned two victories apiece as well. MacLennan won both the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes and Xiong won the 100 Backstroke and lead off the victorious 200 Medley Relay (Xiong,
Shepard Kerscher,
Alex Ruckel-Bekefi,
Ethan Chang.) Other event winners for the men were
Skylar Yoham in the 200 Butterfly,
Breacan Shea in the 200 backstroke and Ruckel-Bekefi in the 200 IM.
In the 200 Butterfly
Curtis Johnson also did the 18th fastest time in school history.
Up next for the Mules: The women will travel to Brunswick, ME for the CBB meet at Bowdoin College on January 31st. the meet start time is 12 PM. Th men will have a week off and then will host the CBB meet at Colby on February 7th. Meet start time is 12 PM.
