Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Williams Tops Colby 4-1

Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team faced Williams College for the second time of the weekend. After a hard fought 60 minute battle, Williams surpassed Colby 4-1. 

Colby entered the first period with high energy, firing 23 shots and winning 11 faceoffs. Williams opened the scoring on a power-play goal at 9:40 and added a second goal at 16:27, but Colby responded quickly. Just 1:10 later, Allie Corrieri put the Mules on the board at 17:37, assisted by Molly Lefebvre and Jo Tattersall, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Goaltender Ally Martiniello ended the period with 11 saves. Colby generated consistent offensive pressure in the second period, earning three power-play opportunities and firing 26 shots on goal, but was unable to find the equalizer. Martiniello remained strong in net, making eight key saves to keep the game within reach. The Mules continued to battle in the third period, but Williams extended its lead at 13:53. With under four minutes remaining, Colby pulled the goalie in an attempt to spark a comeback, but the Ephs sealed the game with an empty-net goal at 17:45. Martiniello  finished the game with an impressive 31 saves, while Corrieri led Colby with nine shots. The Mules showed resilience against a nationally ranked opponent and remained competitive throughout the contest despite the 4-1 loss. 

The Mules will host Nichols College on Tuesday evening at 4:00 PM for a non-conference matchup.
