No. 17 Colby Falls to No. 10 Amherst, 7–2, in NESCAC Matchup

Waterville, ME - In a tightly contested NESCAC matchup, the Colby women's squash team fell to the Amherst Mammoths, 7–2.

Senior Laavanya Kugan '26 opened the scoring for the Mules, responding to a 7–11 first-game loss by taking control and winning the next three games in decisive fashion. Colby's second point came from Abhisheka David '26 at the No. 3 position, as she delivered a clean, commanding 3–0 victory in just 14 minutes.

Despite the final scoreline, the Mules showed resilience throughout the lineup against a strong Amherst squad. Reshika Rajarathinam '28 pushed her opponent to a narrow 12–14 game, while Maggie Motch '28, Tori Thill '28, and Amanda Miller '26 each battled through tightly contested 10–12 games.

The day was capped off by a milestone performance from freshman Gigi McWhorter '29, who earned her first collegiate victory at the No. 10 spot with a dominant straight-set win.

The Colby Women's Squash Team returns to action next Friday, January 30, when it hosts the Saint Lawrence Saints.
