Game Recap: Women's Ice Hockey |

Colby Dominates Hamilton 4-1

Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team faced the Continentals of Hamilton College for the second day in a row. In an intense NESCAC battle, the Mules came out on top with a 4-1 win, improving their overall record to 7-2-0.

After yesterday's win, the Mules entered today's matchup with high energy. At 16:15 of the first period, Molly Lefebvre opened the scoring for Colby with a power-play goal, assisted by Marion Legge and Kayleigh Michaud-Nolan. The Mules totaled 22 shots in the period, while goaltender Ally Martiniello made four saves. The second period saw plenty of action from both sides. Colby added 19 more shots, and Martiniello made seven additional saves. At 15:53, Mallory Farrell doubled the Mules' lead to make it 2-0, with assists from Kate Pura and Emily Olsthoorn. Hamilton answered with a goal with 41 seconds remaining in the period, but the Mules maintained their composure heading into the third. In the final period at 12:51  during a power play, Courtney Schumacher capitalized to make it a 3-1 game, assisted by Sophia Kennedy and Allie Corrieri. The Mules held firm defensively for the remainder of the period, and at 18:36, Schumacher sealed the win with an empty-net goal, her second of the game, assisted by Maria Pierce. Colby added 20 more shots in the third period, and Martiniello finished with 16 total saves. After a hard-fought effort, the Mules earned the 4-1 victory. Schumacher led the game with two goals and seven shots

The Mules will head down to Suffolk University on Tuesday for a 5:00PM puckdrop.
