Waterville, Maine – Colby Volleyball continued its perfect start to the 2025 season with a straight-set victory over Wisconsin–Stout, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-22), on Friday night at the Margaret M. Crook Center. With the win, the Mules improve to 3-0, while the Blue Devils drop to 0-1.
The opening set was tightly contested, but Colby's serving and balanced offense gave them the edge. A late push, capped by steady kills from Brady Moseley and LJ Grant, allowed the Mules to close out the first set, 25-19. In the second set, Colby tightened its attack, hitting .250 as Grant and Marjorie Johnson contributed at the net. The Mules built momentum and never looked back, securing a 25-17 win. Wisconsin–Stout rallied in the third set with 14 kills and a late surge, but Colby responded with timely digs from Reese Loyd and strong swings from Moseley to edge out a 25-22 and finish the sweep.
Colby finished with 33 kills, 10 aces, five blocks, 32 assists, and 51 digs, hitting .176 as a team.
Moseley led Colby with nine kills, followed by Grant with eight and Johnson with four. At the service line, Gabby Grujic notched three aces, while Grant and Cyanne Jones added two apiece. Defensively, Sydney Bopp, Alexa Peguero, and Kendall Glover each chipped in with two blocks. Setter Jordan Lee paced the offense with 18 assists, while Grujic added 10. Loyd anchored the back row with 14 digs, supported by Grant and Moseley with seven each.
Colby Volleyball continues hosting the Colby Invitational this Saturday at the Crook Center, taking on Maine Maritime at 1:30 PM and Endicott at 4:00 PM.
