New London, Conn. - The Colby College Women's Soccer team faced the Camels of Connecticut College in a NESCAC matchup this afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Mules came out strong in the second and earned a 2-0 victory.
The opening half was even, with both teams trading possession. Goalkeeper
MK Marshall started in net and made two saves before
Skye Greenberg closed out the final minutes of the half. Colby turned up the intensity after the break, dominating play with 15 shots in comparison to the Camels' one, and earned nine corner kicks while allowing none for Conn. At 50:44,
Annie Liebich put the Mules on the board with a shot to the bottom left corner assisted by
Claire Walsh. With just over six minutes remaining,
Avery Del Col extended the lead, finding the top right of the net at 83:22 to seal the 2-0 win. Goalkeeper
Sadie Gardner anchored the second half, securing the shutout.
The Mules now prepare for another NESCAC matchup as they head to Williamstown next Saturday to face the Ephs of Williams College at 11:00 AM.
