Box Score Middlebury, Vt. - The Colby College Women's Tennis began the 2025-2026 season at the Middlebury Invite, competing against two NESCAC division schools: Middlebury College, Williams College, and one non-NESCAC school, Skidmore College. Across two days of competition, the Mules took the victory in nine of their match-ups.
On the first day of competition, Saturday, the 15th, Colby faced off against the Williams College Ephs in a singles round. Junior
Michaela Landry went undefeated on day one of competition, defeating her respective competitors 6-3, 6-4, and 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore
Waka Aida faced tough competition in a difficult loss in her doubles round with fellow sophomore
Ella Novion, but in singles, she finished a third set with 12-10 for a victory against Ellie Stark. Freshman
Tina Barrow started off her collegiate career with a singles win, and senior captain
Amelie Gal began her final season with a win against Skidmore College.
On day two, the Mules began with two doubles matches against the Skidmore College Throughbreds. The promising duo of
Kendall Skulley and
Soumya Wijesekera earned Women's Tennis its first doubles win of the season. In further competition against the Ephs, the combination of senior captain
Isabella Suk and
Michaela Landry furthered the Mules' double success with a 6-4 victory. In a difficult match-up against the 2024-2025 number one seed, the Middlebury Panthers, the Mules held their own with a win by freshman
Kat Lowy to round out the first competition of the season.
Colby College Women's Tennis will continue back in Middlebury, VT at the ITA Regionals from September 26th to September 28th.
