Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Field Hockey team hosted Tufts University on Saturday afternoon. The Mules and the Jumbos battled through 60 minutes; unfortunately Tufts took the early lead and finished with an 8-0 win. Colby now sits 0-2 overall in the NESCAC conference.
Colby and Tufts both came out strong, playing an even game for the majority of the first quarter. Tufts took a strong lead, earning three goals to end the quarter, and two more to give them a 5-0 lead at halftime. The Mules continued to fight in the second half, earning three penalty corners, but it wasn't enough against the Jumbos who scored three more goals in the second half.
Ginna Jacoby had two saves for the Mules and
Opal O'Rourke tied her career high of five saves in the game.
Colby is back in action on Sunday at Husson at 1pm.
