Waterville, Maine - The Colby Men's Soccer team will begin their 2025 campaign Tuesday, September 2nd, welcoming the Thomas College Terriers to Mayflower Hill. Last year, the Mules defeated Thomas 2-1 across town with the game winner being scored in the final two minutes of play.
Despite losing four seniors to graduation, including two-year starting goalkeeper
Brendan McCarthy and last years top goal scorer, All-NESCAC selection
Mario Simoes, there is plenty of room and opportunity for players to step up under the helm of first year Head Coach
Sean Elvert. Colby will be led by a new group of five seniors this season including
Chase Dolinko,
Luis Estrella,
Braden Jondro,
Jasper Paez, and
Ryan Stewart. The Mules, coming off a 6-8-1 record, are joined by 10 first-years who will look to make an impact on the program from the jump.
"As we begin a new season under new leadership, our focus is on building consistency, accountability, and a clear intent to succeed," stated Elvert. "With a quality mix of fresh talent and a demanding schedule, we are committed to competing with purpose towards extending our season into November. Every 90-minute experience is an opportunity for growth towards our expectations moving forward."
Elvert is assisted by
Ben Manoogian who enters his third season with the Mules as well as
Yuri Nascimento who rejoins both the men's and women's program as the goalie coach for his third season.
Tuesday night's matchup is set for a 7:30pm kickoff on Bill Alfond Field. Fans can follow alongside the action using the
