Williamstown, Mass. – Colby College Track & Field capped off a stellar postseason showing at the 2025 AARTFC Championships, hosted by Williams College on May 14–15, with multiple school records falling and historic marks set across both men's and women's teams.
On the women's side, sophomore
Simone Waheed made history in the 100-meter dash, running 11.84 seconds in the final to break the Colby school record and place 3rd overall. Senior
Fiona Mejico set a new school record in the 400 meters, finishing 4th with a time of 55.05, while junior
Olivia Doherty placed 7th in the same event with 56.89, now ranked 7th in program history. The women's sprint relays continued to shine, and first-year
Ariel Estime moved to 6th all-time at Colby in the triple jump with a leap of 11.05 meters, placing 10th overall.
In the men's competition, it was a historic meet for Colby. Senior
Myles Thornton-Sherman shattered the school record in the decathlon, finishing with 6,307 points, a new Colby benchmark. First-year
Peter Martel vaulted to new heights in the pole vault, clearing 4.91 meters to break the school record and take 3rd place. On the track, the men's 4x400 meter relay team of
Jackson Coelho,
Peter Martel,
Levi Biery, and
Ren Zanze ran 3:12.15, a new school record and one of the fastest marks in program history. Sophomore
Ian Irwin finished 8th in the 100-meter dash final (10.78), while
Ren Zanze ran 48.41 in the 400m for a strong 14th place.
The Mules will later head to Geneva, Ohio for NCAA Championships starting on Thursday, May 22.
