Beverly, Mass. - Colby Women's Lacrosse faced off against the Gulls of Endicott in a non-conference match. The Mules came out on top 20-6, making their record 11-2 overall.
Colby scored the first goal of the game, but Endicott hit their stride for a minute-long scoring streak where they managed to score three goals. The Mules were quick to snap back and scored four more goals for a 5-3 lead on the quarter. The second quarter was high-scoring for both teams, specifically Colby, who racked up six goals to the Gulls' two. The score was 11-5 at the half. The Mules pushed again in the third quarter and scored six goals, this time holding Endicott to only a singular goal. The score was 17-6 at the end of the third quarter. Defense for both teams tightened up in the fourth quarter, with each team scoring the fewest goals of the game. Colby pushed through with three goals while holding the Gulls to zero, for a 20-6.
Tate Ban was the team-leader in goals with five, followed closely by
Julia Jardina and
Ainsley Dion with three each, and
Gennie Littlejohn and
Olivia Kraus with two each. Littlejohn also contributed three assists. Ban and
Gisele Uva led the team in ground balls.
Jillian Kane and
Gigi Peloso accumulated three times the saves relative to Endicott's goalkeeper.
The Mules next face off against Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. at 11 am on Saturday, April 19.
