New London, C.T. - The Colby College Men's Ice Hockey team played the Camels of Connecticut College on Saturday for their last game of 2025. Trailing the whole game, the Mules' effort wasn't enough against the Camels, finishing with a 2-1 loss. The Mules now stand 3-2-1 in the NESCAC.
In a scoreless first period, the Camels out shot the Mules 11 to eight and both teams had two man up opportunities, but failed to capitalize. Connecticut scored first, finding the back of the net 16:37 in the second period, giving them a 1-0 lead to start the third.
Colby came out strong in the third, with sophomore
Colby Browne tying the game just 1:17 into the period with an unassisted goal. Despite the effort by the Mules, the Camels scored again halfway through the period to take the lead once again. Colby out shot Connecticut in the third period 10 to eight, but it wasn't enough to tie the game, and the Camels finished with a 2-1 win. Sophomore
Cooper Rautenstrauch recorded 25 saves for the game.
Colby is taking a break for their final examination period and winter break, but they are back in action in the new year, at University of New England January 2 at 4pm.
