Women's Soccer Headed to Tufts for NESCAC Championship Weekend

Waterville, Maine - Following a huge 2-0 quarterfinals win to knock off the three-time defending NESCAC Champions in Amherst College, the fifth seeded Mules are headed to Medford, Mass. for the conference championship weekend. Colby will face off with top seeded Tufts University in the semifinal round on Saturday, November 8th with the winner advancing to the championship game the following day. 

During the regular season back on September 13th, the Mules fell to the at the time #21 ranked Jumbos 2-0 here in Waterville. According to the United Soccer Coaches poll Tufts is currently ranked third in Division III with Colby ranked 24th. On the current NPI rankings the Jumbos are again third and the Mules 20th. The two teams have met only once in the NESCAC Tournament before with Tufts winning 2-1 in the 2005 semifinals.

Colby is now returning to the conference semifinals for the second straight year, marking just the second time in team history the Mules have made consecutive trips to the semifinals. This is the teams fourth semifinal appearance since 2000. 

Saturday's semifinal matchup is scheduled for a 4:00pm start. Fans can follow alongside the action using the live stat and live video links as well as check out the NESCAC Championship Central page for more information. The winner will face the victor of the other semifinal matchup between No. 3 Middlebury and No. 2 Williams.
