Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Colby Endures Tough 4-0 Loss to Middlebury

Waterville, Maine - Colby Men's Soccer hosted Middlebury this afternoon in a crucial game, as the Mules aimed to grab points to make a push for the NESCAC conference tournament. Unfortunately, three goals from the Panthers in quick succession stifled a comeback, giving Colby their fourth loss of the season and dropping them to 4-4-3 overall and 0-4-3 in conference play.

Although outshot by their opponents, the Mules still generated a dangerous attack. In the first half, they registered seven shots with four hitting the target to force important saves from the Middlebury shot stopper. Charlie Scott had an effort saved early in the half, while Jude Gussen and Leo Robison had four and three shots, respectively, on the day.

Defensively, the Mules gave up three goals in four minutes starting around the thirty-minute mark, with the final goal for the Panthers coming in the 87th minute. In goal, Jackson Magee had five saves while Colby's defense blocked nine shots from Middlebury.

The Mules are back in action Tuesday, October 14th, as they travel to Castine, Maine, to take on Maine Maritime Academy.
