Cambridge, Mass. - Colby faced off on the road Saturday against the Beavers of MIT. The Mules lost to MIT in a close match, falling to the Beavers 68-63. Colby is now 3-7 on the season.
MIT started off with a strong offense, giving the Mules a run for their money and holding Colby down 23-12. The second quarter saw more of the same with the Beavers continuing their defensive streak, resulting in a score of 41-22 heading into the half. The Mules came back with a vengeance in the second half, starting strong and out-scoring MIT 18-13 for a score of 54-40 heading into the final quarter. Kate Olenik's 30 points were an insane accomplishment for the Mules, almost half of the points for the team.
Lydia Mordarski's nine points, six rebounds, and two assists also contributed to Colby's impressive effort.
Ana Von Rumohr contributed eight rebounds and two steals, and
Amelia Hanscom contributed four steals, four rebounds, and four points.
The Mules next face off against Wellesley College on the road at Wellsley Sunday, January 5, at 1 pm.
