Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Women's Ice Hockey team rematched the Camels of Connecticut College this afternoon and had an exciting 3-2 win.
Entering the game, Colby spent no time to waste as they dominated the offensive end. After 13 minutes of sustained pressure and solid defense,
Maria Pierce put the Mules on the board, giving them a 1-0 lead. Goaltender
Mandy Busky stood tall, making seven saves to keep Colby ahead heading into the second period. The action intensified in the second, with both teams racking up five penalties, including some 3-on-5 play. At 4:36,
Jo Tattersall capitalized on a power play to double the Mules' lead, assisted by
Molly Lefebvre and
Lulu Gray. Just four minutes later,
Cailyn Murphy fired the puck from up top, extending Colby's advantage to 3-0. Despite a late push from Connecticut College, Busky's impressive 18 total saves helped secure a hard-fought 3-2 victory over the Camels.
Next weekend, the Mules will head to Williamstown, MA to face the Ephs of Williams College.
