Middletown, CT - The Colby College Mules (8-3-2, 3-3-1) defeated the Wesleyan University Cardinals (2-8-3, 1-5-1) in their Friday night matchup. Colby took the Cardinals to overtime and a shootout, emerging victorious with a score of 3-2.
The first period saw a Wesleyan goal at the 13:38 mark. Wesleyan was assessed two separate minor penalties across the frame, while Colby was assessed one for too many players on the ice.
The methodical progress of the game continued into the second period.
Bobby Landry took advantage of a Wesleyan penalty and scored on the subsequent power play. The goal at the 15:59 mark was assisted by
Connor Gallagher.
Colby scored again in the third period to make the score 2-1.
Wyatt Schmidek scored an unassisted goal at the 9:35 mark. However, the Cardinals tied the contest late in the third period.
Each team took four shots in overtime, but. neither team could net the winning goal. Thus, the game went to a shootout.

Will Soloway scored on their attempts, while
Cooper Rautenstrauch saved three shots to lift Colby to victory.
The Mules will return to action against the #18 Trinity College Bantams in Hartford, CT at 4:00PM on January 18.
