Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Field Hockey team played Williams College on Saturday afternoon. The Mules and the Ephs battled back and forth for the whole game, but Colby fell short and Williams came away with the 2-0 win. The Mules now sit 1-3 in the NESCAC conference.
The Mules came out fighting in the first quarter, earning a penalty corner within the first minute of the game. Williams came out and battled back, finding the back of the net just after the ninth minute. Colby continued to push back against Williams, keeping it at a 1-0 game going into the second half. The two teams played back and forth, but Williams found another goal off of a penalty corner with seven minutes to play in the game, extending their lead to two goals. The Mules earned five penalty corners in the fourth quarter to try and get a goal against the Ephs, but they were shut down.
Leah Anderson stood strong in the net for Colby, collecting a career high of nine saves on the day.
Colby is back in action at home Sunday against Amherst at 12pm.
