Waterville, Maine - The Colby College Field Hockey team played Husson University on Sunday afternoon. The Mules battled hard and held their lead the whole game for an overall 6-4 win.
Colby came out hard and found the back of the net early, with a goal from
Bridget Everett only three minutes into the contest. Husson fought back and scored a goal to tie it, but Everett found the back of the net once again off a feed from
Casey Winslow. Colby continued to dominate the first half with a goal off of a penalty corner from
Lily Conway. Entering the third quarter, the Mules didn't let up. Winslow,
Lily Harrington, and
Annie Raynes each found a goal within the 15 minutes. Husson battled hard in the last quarter and found three more goals, but the Mules held onto their lead and secured the 6-4 win. Overall, Colby dominated with 16 shots on goal and 13 penalty corners within the 60 minutes.
Harri Baker and
Opal O'Rourke stood tall in the net for the Mules.
Colby is back in action at home Saturday against Williams at 11am.
