Waterville, ME - The Colby College Men's Tennis team defeated Hamilton 8-1 in Colby's third NESCAC matchup of the year, on Sunday afternoon.
In doubles, Colby took a 3-0 lead with decisive wins at court 2 and 3, and a tiebreaker win at court 1. First years Sandeep Alapati and Paul Dandler won 8-2, and senior captain Joey Barrett and sophomore Aidan Kwong won 8-4. Senior captain Sam Henry and junior captain Jake Cohen won the tiebreaker 10-8.
In the first flight of singles matches, Dandler was the first to finish, winning 6-2 6-3. Alapati then finished his match, winning 7-6(2) 6-2. Barrett grinded out a win at court 1, 6-4 6-4. Cohen ended up losing in a tight 7-5 4-6 0-1(7). In the second flight, Henry found his rhythm to win 6-2 6-1 at court 3, and junior Sriram Das pulled out a match with a tight second set, 6-2 7-6(5)
Colby is back in action Saturday, April 13th against Tufts.
