Brunswick, Maine- Colby Women's Tennis fell 2-7 to the Polar Bears in an indoor midweek rivalry match-up.
Doubles started slow for the Mules, going down 0-3. Seniors
Sam Riordan and
Sydney Landau gave their opponents their best shot, but lost a tough tiebreaker 3-7 for a final score of 7-8. The pairing of
Amelie Gal and
Ellie Gershaw also battled hard, losing 6-8 in a close match.
Singles play was intense, with Landau claiming the first win of the day for the Mules, 6-1, 6-4. Shortly after, Gershaw took down her opponent in a third set tiebreak, for a final score of 7-6, 1-6, 10-8. The Mules fought hard in the other matches, but came up just short today.
Colby Women's Tennis is back action for their last weekend of regular play against Williams and Middlebury at home, with a 10 am start time.
