Waterville, Maine- Colby Women's Tennis was defeated by the #3 Wesleyan Cardinals 3-6 on their home courts.
In a thrilling 7 point tiebreaker, Bella Suk and
Michaela Landry claimed the lone doubles point for the Mules. They battled back from being down to claim an 8-7 win over the Cardinals. Seniors
Sam Riordan and
Sydney Landau gave it their best shot, but came up short at one doubles, as did
Amelie Gal and
Ellie Gershaw at third doubles.
On the singles court, Riordan gave the Mules their first singles point of the day, taking down her top ranked opponent in two sets: 6-4, 6-3. Shortly after, Gershaw bested her opponent in a third set tiebreaker, after claiming the second set 6-3. Her final score was 4-6, 6-3, 10-3.
The Mules will be back in action this Wednesday against Bowdoin. Due to impending weather, the time is TBD.
