Lewiston, ME - The Colby College Men's Tennis team defeated Bates 6-3 in Colby's fifth NESCAC matchup of the year, on Sunday morning.
In doubles, Colby took a 2-1 lead. Senior captain Joey Barrett and junior Josh Kaplan were the first to finish, with an 8-2 win. At court 1, the combo of senior captain Sam Henry and junior captain Jake Cohen of the Mules then won 8-4. At court 2, first years Sandeep Alapati and Paul Dandler fell 6-8 in a close match.
In Singles, courts 1, 2, and 3 were the first to finish. Barrett won his match 6-1 6-0, Cohen won 6-3 6-0, and Henry won 6-3 6-1. At courts 4, 5, and 6, the mules won one of three 10 point tie breakers after having clinched the match. Dandler pulled out his match 7-6 2-6 1-0(4).
Colby is back in action Thursday, April 18th at Bowdoin.
