Medford, Mass- Colby Women's Tennis falls 4-5 to the Tufts Jumbos in a rainy day Medford match up.
The Mules went down 1-2 to the Jumbos in doubles play, with the senior pairing of
Sydney Landau and
Sam Riordan snatching their first win of the season, 8-7. Both two and three doubles were close match ups for Colby, with both teams falling 6-8.Â
In singles,
Sydney Landau snatched the first win with a score of 6-4, 6-3. Next for the Mules,
Ellie Gershaw defeated her opponent 6-2, 7-6. The last win of the day for the Mules came from freshman
Michaela Landry, who won 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Senior
Sam Riordan had a close match with her opponent, ultimately losing in the third set.Â
Although the Mules ultimately lost the match, they are making large strides in the right direction. Colby Women's Tennis is competing closely with the best teams in DIII tennis, and are gearing up for the NESCAC tournament.Â
The Mules are back in action tomorrow at 2 pm against Bates.
